KULEJ - "ALL THAT
GLITTERS ISN'T GOLD"
Bringing History to Life with Virtual Production
Recreating Tokyo 1964 and Mexico 1968 for Kulej. Two Sides of the Medal
In the Polish film Kulej. Two Sides of the Medal, we co-produced with Watchout Studio and ATM Virtual to authentically portray the story of legendary boxer Jerzy Kulej. Our team handled historical scenes using advanced virtual production techniques, recreating 1964 Tokyo and 1968 Mexico with high precision and minimal physical sets.
We used Unreal Engine for real-time rendering, dynamic lighting, and photogrammetry, achieving realism and flexibility for complex, historically accurate scenes. LED walls and XR technology enabled seamless transitions between real and virtual environments, adding depth and authenticity that transports viewers to Kulej’s era. Our contributions not only enriched the film’s visual quality but also showcased the transformative possibilities of virtual production in historical storytelling.
